About Me

 

When I was a kid, my family moved from California to Texas. It was around the same time that I first heard Mariah Carey on the radio. I became obsessed with learning to sing like her and began attempting to write songs. Writing songs filled the void of feeling like a misfit in a new place. Later, as a teenager, I wrote a short horror story starring my best friend as the main character. We both laughed it off as a fun one time thing. Little did we know...

For a brief period of my life, I actually did attempt to be a songwriter and was unsuccessful. (No surprise there) But during that time I overcame my stage fright and even sang on stage a few times. Singing will always be a part of me, it comes second nature.

I became a teen mom to my daughter, Kirsten in 2002 and graduated high school two years later. I met and married my husband Beau in 2006 and we had two more children, Marissa and Bella. I stayed at home raising my daughters for a few years.

 

One day, a friend recommended me to read a book called Twilight. I hadn't picked up a book in years, but I was intrigued. Of course I became hooked on the series and finished reading all of the books consecutively. After those, I read more. I read book after book, until deciding to try my own hand at writing. I began a story called Scarlet Night. The story lacked drive, so I saved it on a disk and let it collect dust. Around this time I also started writing another story called Breaking Girl Code. I'm pretty sure I saved it in a file and left it unfinished for a while, too. But I never stopped reading.

Years later, I decided to go to beauty school and graduated, obtaining my license.

 

One day, my niece told me about an app called Wattpad, where writers can write stories off of their phones or computers. I began to write a story called The Blake Brothers off of my phone in between clients, publishing it chapter by chapter off of the app. It started to get a lot of reads, which fueled my desire to finish it, until I finally did! I decided to self-publish it on Amazon Kindle to reach a wider audience, and the rest is history.

I now have ten published books, including The Blake Brothers and Breaking Girl Code. I write romance, dark romance, thriller, young adult and new adult fantasy and juvenile fiction. I also have two poetry books published. I have many more projects in the works, from various genres! I currently work part time at a haunted little library where I can read whatever my heart desires.   

​

When I'm not at work, writing, or reading, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and pets. I like to box, ride my bike, and attempt to teach myself to play the keyboard. Being outdoors calms me, and traveling to new places invigorates me. I'm also a little obsessed with music and fashion. 

​
